D.J. Stewart & Co was a 120 year-old upscale Department store that opened its doors in downtown Rockford in 1866. Three generations of the Stewart family ran the store until 1973. While the downtown branch closed in 1977, the Highcrest store remained open until 1986.

This design is our best effort to replicate the ghost advertising sign still seen on the side of the D.J. Stewart flagship building.
