WLOL 99.5 was the Twin Cities' only FM Top 40 station in the 1980's. The station was known for its unique jingles, which included the catchy "Get me Up!" WLOL was known also for the local touch it brought to its broadcast. This included the support it gave to local artists like Prince and the Revolution, Morris Day and the Time, and Information Society.
