The show actually started in 1966 and was called "Ferdie's Inferno" (named after Ferd Mattioli, the original owner of "American TV" which sponsored the show). When Ferd's brother and Madison retail icon Lenny Mattioli took over the reins at American, the show switched to "Lenny's Inferno" and continued its long-run until 1982.
