The history of the Shuffle Inn in Madison dates back to the early 1950s and its original location on Park Street. But today, most people remember it for wild times and great music at its location on the West Beltline in the 1970s and 1980s. Tons of local bands played there and many bigger names too, including a memorable performance by Van Halen. Sadly, the good times came to an end when a Shuffle Inn employee (and now convicted arsonist) burned the place down in 1988. The Shuffle Inn may be gone, but it will never be forgotten by legions of Madison music fans.
