Wisco 99 was founded in 1938 by Willard T. Hansen with one station in Milwaukee on State Street. In 1946, the first Wisco 99 super station was built, which included a larger amount of pumps to serve people quicker and attendants that catered to all your car needs. By the time it was sold to Pure Oil Company in 1958, there were 40 stations in Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine.
