A new music and cultural movement was created with the founding of2 Tone Records. This English label was home to ska and reggae influenced music. 2 Tone was founded by Jerry Daniels of the ska revival band the Specials in 1979 and went out of business in 1986. The artwork on the shirt is iconic to this record label.
