Bahooka was a beloved Polynesian-themed restaurant and tiki bar located in Rosemead, California, just outside Los Angeles. Established in 1967, it became famous for its immersive decor, featuring over 100 aquariums—including one housing the celebrity fish, Rufus the pacu. Inside was an eclectic mix of nautical and tiki artifacts. The menu offered a variety of tropical cocktails, like the Flaming Honey Bowl, and Polynesian-inspired dishes such as their signature "Exotic Ribs”. After 46 years of operation, Bahooka closed its doors in March 2013.
