B'Ginnings was a music venue located in an assuming strip mall in Schaumburg, IL. It was known not just for national acts, but for also giving local and little known bands a chance. The inside was decorated to look like a Chicago street scene. The name comes from a Chicago song, as one of its members was an owner. Bands that played there include: Cheap Trick, Scorpions, AC/DC, Devo, Lou Reed, The Ramones, and Van Halen. Competition and lack of easy access to the club were some of the reasons for its closure in 1980.
