Big Surf was a Polynesian-themed water park in Arizona that had the first wave pool in the US. The pool was originally used for surfing exhibitions and competitions. The Waikiki Wave Pool was designated a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark in 2013. Sadly, the park closed in 2019.
