One of my favorite restaurants, Casa Gallardo, was founded in 1975 in St. Louis, Mo. The first location was on the ground floor of the tallest building in Westport Plaza. The restaurant was a huge success, which led to its sale to General Mills in 1979. After rapid expansion and growth, Casa Gallardo went through different buyouts and was out of business by 2012.
