Coco’s Coffee House was a beloved Honolulu landmark that opened in 1960 at the bustling intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard. The building featured whimsical South Seas-inspired architecture, complete with lava rock accents and tiki torches, making it one of Hawaii’s most distinctive coffee shops. Coco’s was open 24 hours and included the Calabash Bar, offering locals and tourists a lively spot for late-night dining and cocktails. After 26 years, Coco’s closed on August 31, 1986, and the site later became home to the Hard Rock Café.
