The Electric Ballroom in Tempe, Arizona was a legendary live-music venue that operated from around 1994 until it closed on February 2, 1998. Originally known as Dooley’s and After the Gold Rush, it hosted an impressive lineup of artists including Nirvana, Iggy Pop, Blur, Deftones, and Sneaker Pimps. Bands loved the Electric Ballroom’s gigantic stage—with curtains that rose for every act, even opening bands—and its capacity to bring vibrant energy to the Valley’s music scene.
