The Faust Hotel was built in 1929 and was the premier hotel in its day. It was the destination for conventions, meetings, and weddings. The Faust stands proudly at 15 stories high, with a tower in the middle capped off with an American flag flying 24 hours a day. The hotel was named for Levin Faust, a Swedish immigrant and a leading industrialist of that time. Not only were 400 rooms available, but you could stop by the coffee shop, gift store, pharmacy, clothing stores, and fancy restaurants the Faust had to offer. There was even a bowling alley and dancing in the beautiful ballroom. The Faust is now a senior living center.
