The legendary Gold Dollar was a small bar with a large history. Starting out as a venue for drag shows, it turned into a popular place for live music in Detroit. It's best know as the place where the White Stripes performed their first show. Sadly, the Gold Dollar closed in 2001 and has since been demolished.
