Highland Appliance was founded in 1933 in Highland Park, Michigan. By the 1970’s, there were 18 stores with headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan. Highland Appliance was the second largest American electronics retailer behind Circuit City. Financial difficulties forced all stores being closed by 1993.
