The Houston Summit were one of the original teams in the Major Indoor Soccer League, playing in Houston from 1978 to 1980. They got off to a flying start, finishing first in the league during their inaugural season and winning 38 of their first 56 games over two seasons. The Summit reached the 1979–80 MISL Finals, where they faced the powerhouse New York Arrows. After just two seasons, the franchise moved to Baltimore and became the Baltimore Blast.
