“Let’s go to Katz!” Founded in 1914 by two brothers,Katz’s Drug Storewas more than just a place to get prescriptions, You could shop for groceries, eat at the soda fountain, buy appliances, and even pick up an exotic pet or two. This very successful business was known for cut rate pricing, a variety of merchandise, and clever marketing. In its day, there were 65 stores in seven states. Katz’s was sold to Skagg’s Drug Company in 1971.
