KFAC was a legendary Los Angeles radio station and one of the country’s longest-running commercial classical music broadcasters. Beginning its classical format in 1945, it became known for its knowledgeable announcers, live concert broadcasts, and deep connection to Los Angeles’ cultural community. Its FM station at 92.3 carried performances from the Hollywood Bowl and Los Angeles Philharmonic. After nearly six decades, KFAC ended its classical format in 1989, becoming a treasured piece of Los Angeles radio history.
