KSTT 1170 was a legendary Top 40 radio station serving the Quad Cities from Davenport, Iowa. After signing on in 1946, it became the market’s dominant pop station during the 1950s through the 1980s, earning a devoted following among generations of listeners. Known as “The Big 1,” KSTT played the hits of the day and became an important part of the region’s music culture. The KSTT call letters were retired in 1993, but 1170 remains one of the most fondly remembered frequencies in Quad Cities radio history.
