KWFM 92.9 was a legendary rock station in Tucson, Arizona, that signed on in 1970 as the city’s first FM rock station. Known as “K-Dub,” it pioneered free-form and progressive rock, giving DJs unusual freedom to play music outside the Top 40 mainstream. The station became hugely influential in Tucson and developed an intensely loyal audience, even earning national recognition as one of the country’s best radio stations.
