The Las Vegas Americans were a short-lived Major Indoor Soccer League team that played at the Thomas & Mack Center during the 1984–85 season. Featuring veteran stars such as Juli Veee, Alan Mayer, and Chico Borja, the Americans enjoyed a strong first season and finished 30–18. They made the playoffs but were eliminated by the Minnesota Strikers before financial problems forced the franchise to fold.
