Mabels was a University of Illinois bar known for hosting local and international artists through the 80’s and 90’s. Some of the bands that played there included Green Day, Jane’s Addiction, Joan Jett and Alice In Chains. DJ’s ended interest in live music and Mabels closed in 2000.
