The Montreal Manic were a professional soccer team that competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1981 to 1983. Playing at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, the Manic attracted large crowds and helped bring international soccer to Canadian fans during the sport’s growing popularity in North America. Despite an enthusiastic start, declining attendance and financial challenges led to the team folding after the 1983 season.
