New York World’s Fair was held at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens from 1939-1940. Its theme centered around the future and the “world of tomorrow”. Nylon fabric, the View-Master, early televisions, a futuristic car, the first fully constructed computer game and Scentovision debuted at the fair. The Trylon and Perisphere were the symbols for this event. The fair attracted 45 million visitors and $48 million in revenue.
