Odyssey was the first commercial video game system console and was released by Magnavox in 1972. Basically, the system was movable dots on the screen with no audio. The system came packaged with dice, paper money and other board game items. A controller, the first video light gun, was sold separately. The production of Odyssey was discontinued in 1975.
