The Original Hot Dog Shop, affectionately known as "The O" or "The Dirty O," was a cherished eatery in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. Founded in 1960 near Forbes Field and the University of Pittsburgh, it quickly became renowned for its hot dogs and generous servings of double-fried french fries. The shop's reputation earned national recognition in several magazines. After serving the community for nearly six decades, The O closed its doors in April 2020.
