Oswego Drag Raceway was a legendary quarter-mile drag strip in Oswego, Illinois, that opened in 1955 and helped put the small Fox Valley community on the map. It became a major destination for Chicago-area racing fans, regularly drawing thousands of spectators to see famous drivers and powerful dragsters. The track hosted races for more than two decades before closing in 1979. Today, the Oswego Drag Raceway is fondly remembered through reunions, memorabilia, and the stories of the racers and fans who experienced it.
