“When the Hungries hit... hit the Red Barn”
The Red Barn was a fast food chain founded in 1961 in Springfield, OH. At its peak, there were 300-400 restaurants in 19 states and Canada and Australia. Classic menu items include the Barnbuster and the Big Barney. Red Barn was the first to offer self-service salad bars. Hamburger Hungry, Chicken Hungry and Big Fish Hungry were the mascots. Although the chain went defunct in 1988, Red Barn’s iconic buildings can still be spotted in cities across the US.
