The Red Lion Inn was a live music venue of the 60’s and 70’s in the Illinois college towns of Champaign, Bloomington and Dekalb. REO Speedwagon starting out their careers at the Lion was the club’s biggest claim to fame. Other musicians you might have seen there included: Cheap Trick, Head East, Chaka Kahn, Ramones and Iron Butterfly. Changing times caused all three to close in 1980.
