RSO was one of the most successful record labels of the 1970's. You would see that iconic logo on records by the Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, and Andy Gibb. RSO soundtrack albums include Fame, Grease, Saturday Night Fever and the Star Wars franchise. The financial success of the independent label was exceeded by successes on the pop charts, which was never seen before. The label went defunct in 1983 when it was absorbed into the Polydor label.
