Once located in River Grove, IL, The Thirsty Whale was a rock and roll club that hosted a large variety of bands from 1975 through 1996. The club was a showcase for local Chicago area hard rock and heavy metal bands. It has been said that without the Thirsty Whale, there would have been no rock scene in Chicago.
