Venture was a discount department store founded in 1970. Their headquarters were located in O’Fallon, MO and the first Venture store opened in Overland, MO. This retail chain operated over 70 stores in its heyday and expanded over various areas of the U.S. The majority of these stores being in St. Louis, Chicago, and Kansas City, Some advertising slogans you might remember are: “Saving with style” and “See what a little money can buy”. Unfortunately, Venture went bankrupt in 1998 and disappeared into memory.

Venture was the place to hang for my buddy and me back in the 80s. There was a store within walking distance and we spent many a days playing arcade games there. When I received an invite to his 50th Birthday, I went searching for something nostalgic and stumbled across Bygone Brands. Once I saw the Venture shirt, I knew it was the perfect gift. He thought so too.
We're so glad you found us too. Venture was one of our favorite stores growing up.
I love the shirt and I get compliments on it as well as the other I bought. I finally washed and dry all of my shirt and I did not experience any bleeding or major shrinkage. I was happy that it shrinked a bit because I think I bought it a size too big and that was my fault. Also, there was no peeling of the graphics after taking it out of the dryer. I really do like the feel of the fabric, its soft, warm, and at the same time breathable, to me at least.
