Waverly Beach was once Beloit's playground. Starting in 1916., fun seekers came to swim, play on the beach or dive off the tower. You could listen and dance to big bands in the open air dance pavilion. Thrills included riding the Merry Go Round or the Sky Rocket roller coaster. The dance pavilion eventually was enclosed for wrestling and rock concerts. Waverly Beach closed in 1979 and The Rock Bar and Grill is on the site today.
